Another New Site
Yes, that’s right, another new website has been created by your’s truly. This time I haven’t thought of a name yet, any suggestions would be welcome. Although this piece does have to be submitted on Thursday so chop chop. Some may say I’m leaving it to the last minute, I say I produce some of my best work under pressure and this is simply my methodology. I’m correct damn it!
Well the as yet unamed site also lacks content, but I will be writing about the scripts I have produced for university. Don’t worry, this site will only be online for a few days then I will just move it across to this blog for your enjoyment and reference. Comments on the presentation, interface and usability would be appreciated. Honestly, be as critical as you like, I can always ignore you and you never know, something may get through and affect something important =) As I said this site will not be in existance for very long, so the domain is only the one provided by my University and I am not going to invest in a new domain, I already have quite the collection.
The design however may live on, and I will be taking some screenshots throughout it’s lifetime, birth to death if you like, so you can see the process in a little more detail. Of course all the code and design etc. is my own invention (another reason not to hold back with the insults/compliments) and could come back in the future with new content. I say design, maybe I should write up a little on what it consists of. As you can see there is a menu bar across the top, derived from the ever useful Listamatic, not in any specific way, purely on the principle of styling unordered lists. (<ul> etc.)
Following down the page, as it exists now, is the content to the left and a floating <div> which will contan news or updates depending on the main page etc. All pretty easy to understand, however as you can see the page currently doesn’t scale well when the content doesn’t fill the browser. To rectify this a fixed footer will be added. More on that shortly.
