My Car
Yes, it’s a BMW. Yes, I’m only nineteen. But hey, anyone can do it, just no-one thinks they can… and I love that. You can be driving along when you notice someone looking at you, with that great ‘he sooo stole that’ expression on their face. Best feeling in the world =)
Unfortunately, being a seventeen year old car, there are some bits that need doing, including some tiying up of the interior. This includes a thorough cleaning of the carpets and upholstry, the dashboard and pretty much every other surface could also use a wipe down and spruce up. Also needed inside is a replacement bulb for behind the instrument panel (the one which lights the temperature guage, if you’re really bothered) and a new heated rear-screen switch cover, because the old one shattered. And it wasn’t my fault!
What else? Well I do need some new lights, preferably I’m going to save and get a Xenon HID kit fitted, around 100GBP from eBay (fitting is simple enough) and it also requires some replacement covers for various spoiler openings that have been lost under, let’s say, some moments of energetic driving… Something not attributed to my driving style however is the driver’s seat base starting to show signs or wear, as is the door card from the driver’s door. Again, both relatively cheap to fix, even if a little challenging what with this particular example having the colour coded blue interior - Yes that’s right, everything is in deep shades of blue, not a piece of black upholstery in sight. Sigh. Oh and the sunroof lining needs a dab of fabric adhesive to stop it coming away any more than it has.
Probably the most major expese however is the entirely new off-side wing mirror I need, due to the complete fucking stupidity of some dick in Skegness who doesn’t know how wide their car is. Yes, that’s right, a couple of weeks ago now I was innocently parked down a little road, well off the main road I’ll add, whilst grabbing some lunch, and no more that ten minutes later I return to find my mirror completely smashed. The whole thing. Electric mirror motor, heating stuff, heated glass etc. All obliterated and crushed against the passenger door window. Thankfully that glass didn’t crack, or I would be looking to kill someone. As it is I just want to break both their legs. Slowly. With a golf club. So anyway, if someone does have a light blue, passenger side wing mirror from an E34 going cheap, please contact me!
