Movie Catch Up
So what’s been going on in the cinema world recently? Well, of course this is just what piqued my interest, it may be totally tiresome to you but whatever. Probably not. So, if you remember, I did round up what I was looking forward to this year, so as we approach the end of the year I thought it would be good to look further ahead.
So without further fillibustering, what film is going to rock hardest in 2008? Okay, well there are a few choices. First up, and one I mentioned previously is I Am Legend, with Will Smith in a post apocolyptic waste land of Earth. Awesome, I think you’ll agree, and definately going to be an amazing spectacle of cinematography to behold. Huge budget, great effects, great acting, and brilliant suspense and tension building. Just thinking about being that dude left alive sends a tingle down my spine. And yes, yes, I know this is actually coming out mid December, but who cares… I can’t hype this enough damn it!
Next up is the long over due, Indiana Jones : Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the fourth in the series of fantastic Indiana Jones films. Brilliant name isn’t it? Just full of adventure and action and excitement and danger and history and scale. The adjectives could go on, but I think it’s enough to say that just from the title alone, no trailer, and no poster, this movie will be fucking brilliant. Also clouded in mystery (although with several production photographs) is the new Batman film, The Dark Knight. I wasn’t a big fan of Batman Begins, but it was a great film, so hopefully this offering will capitalise on that.
Other notable films include the second National Treasure film (Book of Secrets), the second Narnia film (Prince Caspian) and finally the third Mummy film (Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, another fantastic title by the way…) However I must say these are merely for entertainment value, I don’t see them as movie-geeks pornography or anything. Just a nice excuse to go check out a movie will do me.
Obviously, in my opinion the most kick ass of these is clearly going to be Indiana Jones : Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Sorry, but that name is pure genius, and that’s me done for the knight. Excuse me, night.
