Argh!

Sorry, again, but yes, I did jinks my easy going life, and so much has happened at so many odd times of the day that over the weekend I really couldn’t find time to write anything worth reading. And to the person that shouted ‘you never do!‘, fuck you. So today I figured I would bring you the happy news of my recently ordered laptop.

Well I know some of you may remember the nightmare that my previous attempt at purchasing a laptop turned into, and I was anxious to avoid a similar scenario this time round, so I thought what I should do….? I know! Reorder the same laptop. Genius, I think you’ll agree.

Yes, yes, I know, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, but it was the only laptop I wanted. Everything else just sucked really, so for the money, this is the best laptop I could find, and thus was the option that I ended up retaking. This time round though, there are some differences. First off, I ordered the correct laptop first time round, which will no doubt speed up the delivery process. Secondly, this time there is no mention of extended delivery times on the Dell website for the model I ordered (or any for that matter) which means it may arrive sometime before the turn of the next millenium.

So what did I order? Well, the breakdown is below, and I ‘m sure I’ll be mentioning this many more times in the future on this blog, so don’t be worrying about missing details. And this time when it arrives there will be unboxing photos, as I have my awesome new phone.

Dell XPS m1330

  • Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7500 Processor (2.2GHz,800MHz,4MB L2 cache)
  • 2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
  • 13.3″ UltraSharp™ WXGA (1280×800) White-LED Display (300 nits) with TrueLife™
  • 160GB (5400RPM) SATA Hard Drive
  • Fixed 8x DVD+/-RW Slim Slot Load Drive
  • 128MB nVidia® GeForce® 8400M GS
  • Intel® Pro Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g Mini-Card
  • Oh, and Windows Vista Home Premium

What upgrades did I get? Well, of course, I tried to upgrade away from Windows Vista, but they were having none of it. Hopefully Vista won’t break absolutely every program I use, I do of course need Firefox to blog… Plus, I got the fingerprint reader add on, because that’s just awesome. Login by swiping your finger down the scanner? Woah. Although, knowing my luck Vista will break some or all parts of that system, oh well.

What colour did I grab? The amazing Crimson Red, duh! This thing will hopefully look as good as it goes. Stay tuned (if that’s the term) for updates…
